11/06/12 - Close to hometime....

The final breakfast - we'd be able to have proper English breakfasts from here on in! A small compensation...

Could get used to this!
Mmmmm - pancake
So, the time had come for our final day away, and fortunately the sun had decided to come out in force for us – given what we’d heard about the English summer we made the most of it! Munched on a banana and coconut crepe whilst doing our final wheeling and dealing in the shops, then it was back to Koh Samui airport. This is one of the stranger airports we’ve been to in our time, being privately owned and basically completely outside. When the plane was delayed, it didn’t concern us too much as we took advantage of the free snacks and wifi access…

Got to love free food at an airport!
No time for us to enjoy Kuala Lumpur this time around, straight to a hostel 10 minutes from the airport for some kip prior to the main journey. The rules man, Walter, didn’t like it when we tried to come in with our shoes on, and chided Tony when he put a bag on the bed (‘don’t put it there, man’), but it was a comfortable B&B and exactly what we needed.

Key Learnings:
1. It’s pretty difficult to find anything other than generic fridge magnets throughout Thailand…
