Sunrise - well, nearly...

A quick stop at a honey
farm - don't ask!

We nearly made another sunrise, but didn’t want to peak too early! A quick beach breakfast and then it was off to explore the northern coast of the island. To access the beaches required a fair bit more unsealed road driving, and Tony coaxing Annaliza into believing that the Daewoo could venture where caravans couldn’t. All ended well – the Beaut coped and we were rewarded with some pristine unpopulated bays. From there we reconnected with civilisation at Kingscote, the main town on the island. This was famed for being a great spot to see Leafy Seadragons, but not wanting to get too adventurous Tony’s search was limited to asking a fellow snorkeller if he’d had any luck with sightings (he hadn’t). Instead we enjoyed watching the pelicans and were lucky enough to see a stingray from the pier.

Not a leafy seadragon, but still
pretty good! |

| Pelicans - strange creatures |
Our time at Kangaroo Island had quickly come to an end, but our wildlife
spotting log had benefited significantly from the detour! On the ferry back,
whilst Annaliza planned the next phases of the trip, Tony enjoyed watching
Strictly Come Dancing – some things never change!
Key Learnings
1.
The Beaut is tough enough to take on a Wallaby and come through without any
scrapes (effect on Wallaby unknown, but probably not as good!).
That'll be the daewoo.
