06/05/12 – Relax to the Max

Chill time on Coral Bay

Going north

Not the official Big Banana, but
Carnavron's equivalent
Having seen the bountiful attractions that Carnavron had to offer the night before, we got out of the place early doors and after loading up on some supplies (Carnavron is the produce capital of WA, so some fruit made it amongst the other snacks!) it was back on the road.

Lost and mound
Fish feeding in the bay -
nice budgie smugglers!
Coral Bay
Upon passing the Tropic of Cancer we started to get some large termite mounds flanking us on the road, but not much else of note until we got to Coral Bay for lunch. It felt a bit alien (and slightly naughty!) not staying on the move that afternoon, but that’s what happened – got to enjoy some beach and snorkel time. The temperature had recently picked up a notch or two, so it was lovely to be able to jump into the inviting turquoise water and enjoy the sun setting over the ocean.

Key Learnings
 1. Google maps timing isn’t always accurate in the more remote areas of WA, but mainly too conservative which worked out as a bonus for us!
